Atalanta need one more win to ensure their CL ticket, and since they will surely go after the three points this weekend – especially since they are pitted against Genoa from the bottom tier of the league table.

As things stand, Genoa are placed 14th in the table, and are going through a dismal run. They are conceding goals in almost every other fixture, and they are also going through a worrying run at home.

Going on, they have confirmed their safety from relegation, and this will probably result in them taking the foot off the gas. With just two games remaining, the team would want to ride out the remainder of the campaign with no major injuries.

Meanwhile, Atalanta have a better h2h record against the 5th placed Juve, and therefore they need just one win from the remaining two games to ensure a top-four finish, and thus a CL spot.

However, their final fixture is against AC Milan, who are in terrifying form. Therefore, logic dictates that Atalanta would not take chances, and would go after a victory this Saturday itself.

Genoa vs Atalanta: Head-to-head (h2h)

  • Seven of the previous eight overall wins were posted by Atalanta.
  • They had scored two or more goals in eight of the preceding ten meetings.
  • At this venue, the guests had recorded wins in four of the last five encounters.
  • The hosts have a total of just one win at this venue since 2010, and just three since 2000.
  • The visitors had scored two or more goals in five of the last six clashes at this ground.

Genoa vs Atalanta Prediction

Genoa recorded a 0-2 win on the road against Bologna. In the meantime, Atalanta registered a 2-0 win at home against Benevento.

Going on, Genoa were winless in 12 of their past 15 overall games, and they had conceded two or more goals in five of the former seven fixtures. Note that they also have a total of just one win at home since the first week of February.

On the other hand, their counterparts are on a nine-match unbeaten run, and seven of these were wins. Moreover, they have lost just against three teams in their past 30 games – Real Madrid, Inter, and Lazio.

Finally, Genoa also have a poor h2h record against this opponent over the year.

By the looks of things, expect an Atalanta win this Saturday at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Do also count on them to go after goals right from the get-go, to avoid any mishaps.
