Will Olympique Lyonnais avoid an early Coupe de France exit?

Les Gones have won this trophy five times, only four clubs have won more, most recently un 2012, but they haven’t won any major honours since then.

Right now, Peter Bosz’s side are down in 13th place in Ligue 1, following Sunday night’s goalless draw with Lille.

The only thing keeping Bosz in his job is their Europa League form, winning Group A with 16 points out of a possible 18.

Thus, with the winter break right around the corner, a defeat in this tie could be catastrophic for their Dutch Head Coach.

Paris FC therefore will fancy a big upset.

Les Parisiens are looking to match their best ever run in the Coupe de France with a victory, going out to Saint-Étienne in the round of 32 in 2019/20.

Just to get this far, the home side have had to win two ties.

First, they beat Sedan Ardennes on penalties before a rather more comfortable 14-0 win over CSC de Cayenne from French Guiana.

That is actually the biggest margin of victory ever in a Coupe de France match in the competition’s history.

Thierry Laurey’s side are currently fourth in Ligue 2 as they look to get back into the top-flight for the first time since 1979.

Will Lyon be on the wrong end of a famous upset at Stade Sébastien Charléty?
